We couldn't have thought of a better place to host a Lab Run, than in a former physics classroom. The Lab Run marked the kick-off for Lab 2700, which is a brand new initiative by Copenhagen Business Center.
Throughout the rest of 2012 Social Lab will work with the Business Center, to support the growth of entrepreneurial culture in Tingbjerg and Husum.
Together we will educate local social innovators, and host social lab workshops, to unleash fresh ideas for social projects and businesses. The Business Center will provide mentorship and incubation resources. The Social Lab team will bring their experience within open collaboration, and stimulating social innovation.
Look out for blue containers and white lab coats - we can't wait to get started!

We are moving our idea lab indoors for the NGO+Business Partnership Conference at Copenhagen Business School. As part of the conference, we are hosting an open innovation challenge, focusing on encouraging more strategic partnerships between businesses and NGOs. The idea of a neighborhood that is build by and for it's citizens, was created during Social Lab at Roskilde last summer.
Theis and Louise who were behind the idea have worked hard to attract funding and partners. Over the summer they will be live with 4 different projects at Roskilde Festival and in the city of Copenhagen.
The projects are aimed at testing and developing a brand new approach to democratic city development. One in which citizens are engaged in building their own city spaces.

This week-end we invited our idea creators to the Edge Camp. The goal was to further develop each idea and create a game plan for how each idea can be tested in the real world. The weather was excellent and so was the location. So when the experts we had invited to help our idea creators came, we were able to work at the harbor front in Christianshavn. Among the experts persons were:

Roger Spear is Professor of Social Entrepreneurship at the Centre for Complexity and Change at the Open University. He is the chair of the Co-operatives Research Unit, founding member and vice-president of EMES.
Kam-tong Chan, Ph.D., is currently Associate Professor/ Principal Lecturer of the Department of Applied Social Sciences, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is also the Convener of the Centre for Third Sector Studies at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Marília Veronese is a social psychologist, professor and researcher at the University of Vale of Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS), Brazil, where she is member of a research team on solidarity based economy, which belongs to the Social Sciences Postgraduate Programme.
Gladius Kulothungan has 25 years of senior management and training/consultancy/research experience in the private, public and voluntary sectors with a diverse range of expertise in the areas of social action & community development, media productions, project management and social enterprise. Currently he heads the B.A. Social Enterprise programme in CIS.

Please come and visit us in the Lab! We're located in Service Center East. Look for our blue container with the Social Lab sign on top, and the lab team in white lab coats.
At the lab you can check out our "Surprisingly Good" exhibition, showcasing surprising solutions to poverty from around the globe. You can also get help developing your own ideas, or just say hi!
